Taybank Lodge is a newly built property built into the hillside on the south side of the loch near Kenmore. This unusual and challenging build was constructed using a large concrete retaining wall to hold back groundwater. It required the diversion of a number of underground streams and then the construction of a high-spec solid oak timber frame over three floors including a bespoke triangular zinc/solar roof and battery system to allow it to function completely off-grid if required. The house incorporated many unusual and stylish features, including a curved and handmade staircase with glass balustrade, single-ply upper balcony with glass balustrade and underfloor heating throughout from a borehole ground source heat pump
