This is an extensive 5-star holiday development on the south bank of Loch Tay, close to Kenmore build on a challenging sloping site on the site of an old hotel.
We have been involved since the inception of this project and have built 17 properties to date and currently are building a further block of 9 apartments.
Initially we converted 12 chalets suitable only for summer stays to fully winterised hi-spec apartments some with mezzanine decks and new panoramic windows that could be used year-round. Phase 2 involved the conversion of an old restaurant into a modern up market restaurant with toilet facilities at the east end and office at the western end which incorporated storage and changing facilities for the water sports centre. In addition, we organised dredging of the marina and the building of a purpose-built stone breakwater into the loch whilst liaising with SEPA to ensure protection of local wildlife and loch anti-pollution safeguards.
Thereafter the development has been gradually expanded with hi-spec architecturally designed timber framed buildings with external block rendered walls and Siberian larch cladding and glass fronted balconies and Euroclad metal roofing. All these building have been thermally insulated and fitted out to an exceptionally high standard with granite worksurfaces and bulkheads, high quality kitchen appliances and beautiful high insulation modern thermally efficient windows. External balcony or decking areas offer spectacular views over the marina towards Kenmore and down the ever-changing loch. https://www.taymouthmarina.com/2-3-bedroom-terraced-town-houses
There were considerable challenges with surface water across the site which needed to be channelled and managed and new services including electric vehicle charging points were installed. Extensive groundworks and landscaping were required with new car parking areas including crash barriers where drops necessitated and a fire hydrant requirement. In addition, we liaised with electricity suppliers to bury overhead wires, managed the private water supply and LPG heating requirements as well as arranging for site wide internet requirements.
Phase 3 saw the construction of the Hotbox Sauna, complete with sauna area, changing rooms, external fire pit, slide into the loch natural plunge pool, bar area, privacy and safety fencing. https://www.taymouthmarina.com/the-hot-box-sauna
